The Town of Vernon CT is in Tolland County and bordered by the Towns of Manchester, South Windsor, Bolton, Ellington and Tolland. Interstate 84 runs through the town and the population is approximately 29,000. Vernon contains the City of Rockville and the smaller villages of Talcottville and Dobsonville and has a total area of 18+ square miles.
Henry Park and Valley Falls, are both in Vernon. Valley Falls Park has 8.5 miles of blazed trails and offers swimming, picnicking, hiking, x-country skiing, fishing, wild flower and wildlife observation and a scenic vista. Henry Park offers swimming and recreation activities, has areas for picnicking and walking the dog. Summertime the park is home to fireworks in celebration of Independence Day. The rails-to-trails runs through Vernon and provides miles of walking and biking trails.
