The Town of East Windsor has five sections: Warehouse Point, Broad Brook, Scantic, Melrose, and Windsorville. The oldest section of town is Warehouse Point used first in the 1630’s. The Scantic section of town was the center of town until the mills were built. The town is located half-way between two major cities of Springfield and Hartford which has led to its growth as a community. The Town of East Windsor is bordered by the town of Enfield, South Windsor, Ellington, Windsor Locks and Windsor, across the Connecticut River.
The Town of East Windsor is home to The Opera House Players, founded in 1968. It is the oldest community theater group in the area that performs exclusively musical theater. The site provides the players with a unique historic setting built in 1892 located at 107 Main Street in Broad Brook.
The East Windsor Park located at 51 Reservoir Ave in Broad Brook, contains 22 acres including a waterfront for swimming, 2 baseball/softball fields, 1 multi-use field, 1 basketball court, one tennis court and one volleyball court. The facility also contains a snack bar, on-site parking and grilling areas, A double-sided pavilion containing kitchen facilities can be rented for events.
The East Windsor Dog Park is located at 22 Reservoir Avenue in Broad Brook and is open from dawn to dusk. This area is dedicated to provide a fun, safe, and friendly environmentfor dogs to exercise and play with other dogs and for dog owners to socialize with other dog owners.
